HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY PAYSON!!!

Birthday rats? No, you're not seeing things, we did get Payson two rats for her birthday. That's close to a hamster, right? I still don't know how I got talked into them, but I do think they're cute and the important thing is that Payson adores them! At least for now! They were up for adoption at PETCO - a school teacher owned them and took a leave of absence so she couldn't keep them anymore. Their names are Lewis and Clark. Pretty fitting since Payson just finished her school report on Sacajawea! LOL! I'll keep you posted on the life and time of Lewis and Clark's adventures at Casa de Kelley.

Easter Sunday!

The Kelley kids had a blast hunting for tons of eggs that the Easter bunny left for them! Why is it that the Easter bunny spends SO much time filling and hiding eggs and then it's over 5 minutes after the kids wake up? Just doesn't seem fair......LOL!

Easter Sweets!

Yummy! The kids received a special delivery from the Iowa Easter bunnies today (AKA Uncle Doug, Aunt Sara, Emma and Brianna). They're ALMOST too pretty to eat. ALMOST! Thanks guys!
  • Oh, and Grandpa and Grandma - thank you, too! Great things always come in pairs. We'll enjoy all of our chocolate goodies!

The Easter Fun Continues....

Yummm.......Easter cookies! We hope the kids had as much fun as us moms watching them!

Kelley's 3rd Annual Easter Party

Kids, kids and more kids! We celebrated another great Easter with about 30 kids from our neighborhood! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but highlights of the party were confetti eggs, suncatchers and, of course, the egg hunt itself! More pics on next post.....

Babysitting...

So, Aidan, our six-year old, was playing with her babies today and our conversation went something like this...

  • Aidan: "Mom, will you babysit my babies for me?"
  • Me: "Sure honey. Bring them over here. Have fun shopping!"
  • Aidan: "I'm not going shopping, I'm going to work. Here's their stroller and the time-out chair."
  • Me: "Oh, I won't need the time out chair because they're angels."

Later.......

  • Me: "Aidan will you take your babies upstairs please?"
  • Aidan: "Yes, and you didn't even babysit them!"
  • Me: "Yes I did. I watched them for hours and they were complete angels!"
  • Aidan: "No, you didn't! Babysitting means that you look after them!"

LOL! Where does she get this stuff?!

Three, Two, One!

Go! Fill up your baskets! The kids had a great time at the annual Unity Park Easter Egg Hunt! It still amazes me how fast all the kids grab up the eggs! I think their baskets were full in a mere 60 seconds or less!!

New Toy...

Happy Birthday! No, my birthday isn't until June, but since Payson learned how to ride a bike I was joking with Jonathan about buying me a bike for my birthday so we could ride together. Well, they surprised me today with an early birthday gift! Is my husband the best, or what?! I can't wait to get out on the trails!

Payson's Glory Day...

It's all you! I can't count how many times I said that as Payson gradually was able to ride for longer and longer periods of time until this afternoon when it actually WAS all her! It only took 3 days over Spring Break and now we can't keep her off of her bike! LOL!

Who was Sacajawea?

Sacajawea: Guide to Lewis and Clark....Payson's second grade class made paper dolls at school and had to choose an American, historical figure to report on and create their character out of the paper doll. We had fun creating Sacajawea and Payson did a FANTASTIC job of informing us about her during her presentation. Three important things that Sacajawea did: interpreted for Lewis and Clark with the Shoshone Indians; found healthy vegetables, roots and berries for the expedition to eat; and rescued supplies from an overturned boat. Great eye-contact and elaboration Payson! We're so proud of you! We went to open house at the school last night and it was so much fun to see all the characters that the kids created! They ALL did an excellent job!

Ladies and Gentlemen......

"Okay, everyone turn off your cameras and your cell phones!" LOL! Do you think Aidan has been to the theatre a few times? She had Jonathan and I in stitches when she yelled out that phrase right before she put on a puppet show for us! She's so cute...
