Today the girls had their very first dance recital. Aidan was a Forest Fairy and Payson was a Hungarian Maiden ;-). They were both extremely excited for the recital and that Grandpa and Grandma Kelley could come and watch, too!
Another memorable day!Payson, too was able to surpass her Reading Counts goal of 65. She ended up with over 100 points! She is an awesome reader! Her graduation ended just in time for us to go out for a mommy-daughter lunch at McDonald's. Her class also did a short play/presentation about the solar system, including short commercial skits. Payson's group did one about stuffed animals - pretty creative group! 3rd grade.... here comes Payson!
Aidan had her kindergarten graduation and Reading Counts awards today. We're so proud of her - she had to get 5 Reading Counts points for an award, but she ended up getting 10! Her class also made thumbprint ladybugs on flower pots today. One for Mrs. Williams, and one for Ms. Kathy. I was thankful to have some help painting the kids thumbs! The pots turned out so cute I had Payson, Aidan and Zane make one for me! Oh, and Payson's class did a ladybug flower pot, too, but I forgot to snap some kodak moments.....
Payson had her school musical tonight - 101 Dalmations! The 2nd grade class did a wonderful job on the musical and we were all really impressed! Payson had a blast too! :-)
The rats have a new crib! They were in a 45-gallon aquarium, but they couldn't really move around anywhere so we upgraded them to a fancy townhouse with lots of levels! They are so spoiled....The kids still adore their new family members and the morning routine is to first ALWAYS check out where the rats are sleeping - they are just so cute! AWWW......
We had a wonderful Mom's Day! The kids made me tons of pictures and wrapped each of them in tissue-paper bags (I must've had about 20 of them)! LOL Daddy and the kids got me some new pajamas and cute pants! It was a great day!
Zane's preschool class performed a few songs this morning and then they attended the annual Spring Carnival. They all had fun and Zane did an awesome job performing, especially on "Yankee Doodle Dandee"! He also thoroughly enjoyed his cotton candy, as you can tell from the last pic! LOL!
Tonight was the kindergarten "Barnyard Moosical" and it was VERY cute! There were all kinds of barnyard animals, including pigs (Aidan's class), goats, cows and chickens. Oh, and let's not forget the ever important...farmers!
I realize that this is my third post for today, but it has been a busy, busy day! It was soooo gorgeous here today (90's), I just had to take the kids to the shops up the street for a little water fun. I think the pictures speak for themselves. ;-)
Well, one of my New Year's Resolution's was to keep up with all my friends and start a family blog! So, here goes... I'm a full-time wife to a very hard working husband and mom of three amazing kids. Payson: creative, dramatic, intelligent, 7-year old princess, Aidan: silly, energetic, drama queen, 5 years old going on 13, and Zane, my 4-year old superhero, jedi, cuddler. I also spend my free-time, if there is such a thing, (ha!)working as an SLP.
While my husband and I are, and will always remain Iowan's in our hearts (Go Hawks!), we love the weather and all of the great friends that we have made here in Texas over the last five years!
