Seriously?

No school today.....because we might get some ice later this afternoon?? Well, of course it's always nice to have a free day and it happened to fall on my work day. Yippee!! Not sure what the kids and I will do today, but something for sure. They are already running around the house like wild banshees!!

Dart Tag...

Boys and guns…I don’t know about the rest of you moms, but I have always been determined not to allow my son to play with guns, but it seems to be part of their genetic DNA or something. Even when he didn’t have guns, any household item was used to represent a gun: a stick, a banana and even a telephone. So, imagine my husband’s shock yesterday when I came home with Nerf Dart Tag (keep in mind that my husband and his father already bought Zane his first two toy pistols and a toy rifle without my knowledge). Anyway, I took the kids to a bounce house place during a school off-day and they had this Nerf Dart Tag and all the kids just loved it and played for at least an hour. Ever since then Zane had been bugging me to buy it so I finally gave in. He AND his sisters love to play the game and as long as they follow the game rules they are allowed to play it. So, seeing as my daughters also love dart tag, my theory about boys and guns kind of goes right out the window……LOL!

Monster Truck

CRUNCH!! So, do you think my husband has way too much time on his hands, or what? He decided that while he was trying out paint colors for his '71 GMC that he might as well create his own little monster truck derby with our daughter's barbie car. Geez! I hope Barbie wasn't in there!!

Letter from the Bush girls to the Obama girls...

Okay, if you can watch this video without shedding a few tears then you are stronger than I am. This letter was so moving...what a wonderful tribute to their father. Don't forget to pause the music ;-)

Blogs and more blogs....

Facebook......who knew I would've become such a "cyber nerd"! I heard about facebook from a friend only recently so I thought I would check it out and see what it was like. Well, let me tell you I am now addicted! If I'm not chatting online, or writing on someone's wall I'm checking out all the other cyber geeks! So, between facebook and blogging I'm glued to the computer. LOL ! Anyway, if you haven't checked out facebook, you should!

School Fun!

Africa and Asia.... Heritage had each grade level represent a different country for a year book picture. Aidan's class was Africa and Payson's class - Asia. They had a great time dressing up, as usual!

Good News!

Grandpa Ausman is out of the hospital! He was admitted a few days ago for his pancreatitis, but he's back home now - hopefully resting.... Still more tests to follow later, but for now Grandma is just glad to have him back home with her. Love you guys!

Fairy dust..... Payson just lost her upper, left, lateral incisor Saturday night. She left a note for the tooth fairy asking her to write something in response and leave some fairy dust for her. She thought maybe she might be able to fly if she sprinkled it on herself. LOL Aidan lost her third tooth - upper, right, central incisor on the 23rd and her new tooth is just breaking through. As for Zane... he is convinced that he has a loose tooth, too!

Say Cheese.......

Christmas photoshoot... Here are a few pictures taken at the park by Ms. Lesley before Christmas. I wish we could take the credit for the wonderful shots she got, but all we did was use a slight amount of bribing - she did the rest!

Here Comes Santa......

We celebrated Christmas at home this year. We enjoyed some holiday shows including the Nutcracker (Zane and Aidan couldn't understand why none of the dancers talked) and Casa Manana's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. On Christmas Eve our little elves made reindeer food and spread it out on the lawn so Santa's reindeer would have lots of energy for their many deliveries. Favorite presents from Santa were lightsabers for Zane and American Girls Ruthie and Kit for Aidan and Payson. Grandpa and Grandma Kelley joined us on the 27th
and the tree was once again
abundant with presents!
Zane reveled in all of his starwars
gear and our princesses spent the day
playing "dress-up" and crafting. We
had a nice visit with Grandpa and
Grandma Kelley over the holiday and
with help from Grandpa, Jonathan was
able to finish building our fence addition.
